Blast from the Past

Cleaning out my iPod the other day to make more memory room, I came across a rant about a particular Sailor Moon character known as Mamoru Chiba (Tuxedo Mask) and I couldn't help but share it. This is probably one of the more offensive things (language wise) I will post, you have been warned!! So here it is:

Differences between manga and anime Mamoru/Tuxedo Mask:

Manga Mamoru: All round likable character, not a douche-muncher, doesn't have the lame ability to kill villains/enemies with vegetation AND actually has a legitimate super power. He doesn't perform sexual misdemeanors at government facilities (Reference to First Volume, Arc 4 "Masquerade" of Manga/Ep 22(JAP)/18(ENG) Anime 'Worth a Princess's Ransom" / "Romance Under the Moon! Usagi's First Kiss") and cares about his girlfriend who is age appropriate (Manga Mamoru is 17/18 yrs old)

Anime Mamoru: Wanker character and in general comes off as a bit of an asshole, has the extremely lame ability of killing people with vegetation and has no other legitimate powers, kisses intoxicated AND under-aged girls who are unconscious at international embassies (Reference to First Volume, Arc 4 "Masquerade" of Manga/Ep 22(JAP)/18(ENG) Anime 'Worth a Princess's Ransom" / "Romance Under the Moon! Usagi's First Kiss") and in general does not give a shit about his girlfriend who is not age appropriate (Anime Mamoru is around 22 yrs old)

Similarities between Manga and Anime Mamoru: The end result is they both produce an evil pink-haired, red-eyed offspring

I would like to mention that these observations were made for comedic/personal purposes only and are not intended to offend anyone in any way, shape or form. I in no way take these views seriously, as I freaking love Sailor Moon, this were just some observations that my friends and I have made.

Anyway, that's about it for now, until next time :)

Rage and random stuffs

Ok, so to start off with, I am going to go on a bit of a rant...It has come to my attention on my newsfeed that there were quite a few expectant mothers in my facebook friends list. Firstly, I must say that the ratio is kind of shocking, because I'm only 20 myself, so 90% of people on my facebook are around that age, but I say facebook friends, because other than facebook, I don't really talk to them. That's all well and good, but seriously, guys! I do not need a play by play update on how your childbirth is going...Frankly, as long as they are not struck by some tragedy or what not, I really don't care, but I'm pretty sure at that point in your life you have more pressing issues to deal with than updating your Facebook status! Especially considering nowadays a lot of people have strangers as friends through social networking, so it's really not the kind of information I want to be seen by someone I barely know or have never even met. It's only logical. Rant end!

Moving on, to be honest, I could rant about this topic forever, so I thought it would be best to move on...In terms of reading things, I haven't really read anything overly significant, just a few short series here and there. One such series being 'Bird of Youth'. I am actually kind of disappointed in this series, as I feel that the plot as kind of sidetracked into a different tangent and I can't see it reverting to the main plot point anytime soon.

On a side note, as mentioned a few months ago, I am helping with some typesetting for a scanlation group, and my most recent project is WTF! It's called Kimi to Kemono na Yume o Miru and it is a series of oneshots by Ayukawa Mio. It is farely out there, very smutty! I have so far done the first two stories and it seems that the female characters tend to be sadists. It is probably the most bizarre thing I have read in a while, so watch out for that one being released in the near future!

Anyways, thats about it for now, until next time :)

Back Again :)

Oh hey, I'm back for the most part anyway. I still have one exam to go, but that won't take as much time as the others because well, I don't have two exams in two days, god that was a nightmare, if that happens again in the next few years, shit will go down!

In other stuffs, working over the last little while I have encountered a new regular at work...not the good kind. They are forever known as the Dragon Lady and quite frankly they scare me. Not just them, but customers seem to think that I make prices to torture people. Sigh I just can't be bothered to deal with some people's issues.

Anyways that's about it for now, next time I'll talk about Sensei! by Kawahara Kazune, kind of old school, but watch this space! Until next time

Gangnam Style

Yes, I have jumped on the bandwagon! To be honest, everyone has been talking about it. It seems that everyone either loves it or hates it, so to quench my curiosity, I went onto Youtube to answer my questions... For the hell of it, here is one of many copies on youtube:

There a few things... Firstly, is this legit. Like is this a serious thing, or is it like the Lonely Island who just take the piss out of everything. I don't speak Korean, so I have no clue what the hell is going on except for the words 'Gangnam style' and 'sexy lady'. I have looked up translation lyrics and it doesn't make sense!! What the hell am I reading. I actually think that this is a serious attempt at music that just doesn't quite look right.

Another thing, I reckon this guy in Gangnam Style is possibly the biggest pimp going around. Watching the video clip, he has all these hot as chicks dancing with him and around him. An the real world, this would not happen, hence why I think he is a pimp. Also the elevator bit is just plain suss...

Anyways, I just had to rant about it, until next time :)

A huge step backwards

I don't think I have ever been as disgusted by so called 'work colleagues' in my life as I was last night. I work three jobs, this one being on a casual basis, but for no reason whatsoever should I be subjected to the humiliation I had to endure last night. Here is a post from my Facebook I would like to share with everyone:
Absolutely disgusted with work yesterday! It's unbelievable how 4 fully grown men could make the girls, including myself, carry a van and a half full of glasses, alcohol and crates of soft drinks up and down 2 flights of stairs while these same men stand there having a smoke and a drink on the job, yelling at us girls to toughen up and grow a pair while bad mouthing our efforts. People like this don't deserve a place amongst our society. If they have so little respect for women in the workplace as they did yesterday, then maybe these pigs should go back to the 1950's where they obviously belong
I find it not only atrocious that people like these still exist within today's society, but I have to acknowledge them as my colleague and work superior. The way I and a few of my other colleagues were treated was not only disrespectful to us, but exposed the sexism that is still prevalent in society. Being told to 'man up and grow a pair' by my male superiors is disgusting, considering that they themselves should grow a pair for the way they treated us. It is appalling that the women, including myself were forced to undertake tasks of manual labour and heavy lifting while the same men sit outside having a smoke and a beer (while allegedly "working"). There is also no reason whatsoever, which makes it acceptable for someone to mock me because I speak with an "Aussie Accent". I'm sorry, but the last time I checked a map, I believe that I live in this country called Australia, so isn't an Aussie accent only natural? I am embarrassed to say that I have to work with these kind of people, and it clearly shows that the ideals of the 1950's where the 'whatever men say, goes' mentality is still used in such a degrading manner today. In my opinion, bigotry based on gender and other aspects of humanity is unacceptable, and I believe that there should be no reason why I should endure this attitude in my place of employment.

I am a bit too pissed at the moment to want to discuss everything else, so for now I'll leave it there. In terms of what is coming up, I am up to episode 42 of NANA, so that will be done with in a couple of days, I am up to volume 17 or there bouts in Anatolia Story and I also have a few things to talk about with Adam Sandler's new movie 'That's my Boy"

Anyway, that's about it for now, until next time :)

A Profound Analagy

After some profound thought, I have come to the conclusion that my phone service provider is no better than a needy girlfriend, you know, those ones who post the vague, attention seeking statuses on Facebook. And here is why:

1. My service provider is more than happy to extend my contract before it expires, but there is no chance of doing so before the expiry date. It is considered 'cheating' in the phone service world if I do this. To be completely reasonable though, I don't even get mobile reception at my house so why would I a) want to renew my contract to begin with, and b) there are better deals out there for me
2. It takes you for all you are worth, adding interest and GST to its already high maintenance costs
3. Like a clingy girlfriend, they constantly call you, asking for you to commit to a lifestyle that most cannot afford

Hence, as of the beginning of next month, my current service provider can consider itself dumped in favour of a more economical service.

Also, like everyone else, I am going to have a whinge about the weather. It's cold and it's wet and quite frankly I'd much rather stay in bed today, but unfortunately that is not going to happen.

Also, I have read Neck and Neck. Not a lot to say about it. Essentially it is 8 volumes of waiting for the lead chick to get with the other guy, which happens at the very end of the very last chapter. It was kind of all over the place. When someone was plotting against the heroine, all of a sudden the story line would jump to another tangent and jump back again 2 volumes later. The overall plot was decent, however the inconsistency of the story lost it for me :(

Anyways, that about it for now, hopefully next time, I won't be freezing when I update :)

Why, oh Why?

Hey! So, where to start. Last week of university for the semester (yay!). I was meant to go to a revision lecture yesterday, but dad seemed to have other plans. He told me before he left that I could drive my car to uni (at the moment we share the car) but when it came to going, I couldn't find the keys. Searching like a mad woman, i couldn't find them inside or outside the house. Calling my mother, we both assumed that dad had taken the keys with him. After half an hour with no word, in a last ditch effort to find my keys, I went to look in the car. And were the keys? IN THE F******* CAR!! When I told my dad that I couldn't find the keys, he remained adamant that he told me the location of the keys, but still, what would possess someone to leave the keys in the ignition of the car. He might as well stick a sign on the window that says 'Steal Me'. Needless to say, I missed my all important lecture, so I was fairly annoyed.

Another of my lectures provided a memorable experience. We had our lecturer and tutor do a little mock of Titanic to theme song 'My Heart Will Go On' by Celine Dion. Unfortunately, I don't have any pics of videos of said incident, but I can confirm that I was crying from laughter :D.

I nearly had a car accident as well today. Some idiot in a 4WD thought because his car is bigger than mine that I would automatically move for him, getting hit by cars in the oncoming direction. I hate people who drive 4WD because they all have this mentally that they are bigger than every one else. Inferiority complex much! A ridiculous amount of people who drive this idiot machines don't even use it for its intended purpose, because lets be honest, some people just can't go a couple of hours without their skinny caramel latte's. In case I haven't made my point, I don't own or drive, nor do I intend to own or drive a 4WD.

In other news, I watched Beauty and the Beast today. Although I have the Disney classic on DVD, I haven't watched it recently and I have definitely been missing out. The art is still fantastic and I really wish I could draw and paint like that. If any of you remember, It is the last Disney animation to be completely drawn my hand, none of this 3D animation crap that kids today are subjected to. I feel sorry for them.

I have also been reading Goong recently. Firstly, it is a Korean Manhwa and I really don't know what to say about this one. Apparently the last of the chapters were uploaded in English yesterday, and if that is in fact the case, I am severely disappointed. The plot itself is amazing, It is set in current times, although in an alternate reality where the history of the world is altered slightly so Korea is not only united, but ruled by a monarchy. It focuses of the customs of the monarchy and life inside the palace (translated to be 'Goong' hence the title) and the constant power struggle within the monarchy for status. The plot of the story is amazing, quite different from your standard series. The characters are very intricate and well thought out, the relationships between the characters are extremely complex and part of the series is based on the journey to understanding these characters and relationships. The art is fantastic, especially the SD components of the series. However, the ending absolutely ruins it for me. To read 27 volumes only to be left with that kind of vague ending without the plot even being resolved of who will ultimately be king is nothing short of disappointment. I am sincerely hoping that the information about it being the end is a lie, and that the series is only on hiatus (has not been published since mid 2011) or there will be a sequal or even spin-off (as much as I hate spin-offs) series of some form. So if you are not one who is annoyed by the ending and reads only for the journey, then get on it people, but if crap endings annoy you like me, then please, for the love of pocky, please do not read, you will be disappointed.

On a side note, i attempted to read Kirakira 100% but gave up after 2 chapters because I already figured out how it was gonna go down and there was nothing to hook me into the plot, so I figured why bother

Anyways, that is about it for now! I'll be sure to update you all soon

Overload

On Everything! Seriously. I am having a serious rant about everything at the moment because I can. So lets start from the beginning. On Friday Morning, I was given the task of driving my mum to the airport. I was up at 4am we had plenty of time to drive there, because you know, it's the airport, so security take forever. Anyway, being 5am at the time, you wouldn't think there would be that much traffic on the road, so I decided to drive through the city. Boy was I wrong. Literally, minutes before we drove through the route I wanted to go, there was a massive car accident which caused the cars involve to catch fire, so the road was immediately closed. Forced to do a u-turn and time running out to get to the airport, I made the executive decision to try another route, alas, ended up completely lost. Just when we lost all hope that mum would not make it to the airport in time, we found the landmark which would lead us to our destination, thus we followed the aforementioned landmark until we arrived, arriving with no less than 3 minutes till the cut off time for the flight. And this is all before 6am.

Luckily, my luck changed after this point, I was fortunate enough to complete and submit my final assessment for the semester, so I have my free time back !! However, I was lacking sleep at this point, so I don't remember much of the remainder of the day's happenings. Saturday was also an up-down day. Thinking it was my day off, I was ready to chill the day away, when I got a call last minute to work Dreamtime at the G, One of the biggest AFL games of the year. Three hours later, I am at the MCG working, and let me tell you, one of the most amazing experiences of my life, despite the fact that I was working. It was invaluable experience and I hope I get to work there again through my agency. For the record, I work in the members area, not one of the fast food stalls. It might sound weird if I was speaking so highly of hot chips and hot dogs. On a sidenote, yay for Sydney demolishing Melbourne, always good when my team gets up. Continuing on, getting home after working was a hassle. I hopped on a train which would take me home. I don't like trains as it is, so imagine my fear when the train kept stuttering along the tracks. It got to the point where I couldn't handle the jumping and had to get off, so I sat at a train station for 30 minutes waiting for the next train in what seemed like arctic weather. Although, upon reflection, I was probably more scared the 30 seconds it took me to walk to my car when I got off the train the second time in the fear of getting jumped.

Moving on, after working today, I can confirm I have absolutely no ambition to pursue a career in childcare. Enough said!

I have recently been reading 'Boy of the female wolf'. I don't know what to think of it, because there is no real plot. I mean, it's just a girl pretending to be a guy because she feels like, a bunch of people belting the crap out one another, and the jealous love rival trying to reek havoc. I know a lot of manga/manhwa are like this and are very cliched, but at least there was some plot. The characters have very little back story and as I mentioned, other than the love triangle/square etc. there is very relatively little story. Such as, even though it is categorized as 'school life', although majority of it is set in a campus setting, very little emphasis is placed on the school, and more so on the fighting happening in school. It's like the school is just a setting rather than a plot. I guess I would recommend if anyone is after a simple read, but I definitely don't think I will be reading it again.

Anyhoo, that's it for now, hope to write again soon! :)

Home, Sweet Home

And thank goodness for that. Never ever again will I be doing an update from my mobile, I can't format the blog the way I like it and it doesn't look very pretty. Such a shame, because I had free time while waiting for my friends to meet me so we could do a group assignment. Also, hooray, only two more days until I am completely free from assignments...only the exams!

Moving on! Quite an interesting day, I had to explain why I don't like watching reality television. Understandably given the high caliber of intellectual content I can obtain from channels such as MTV, I think people can understand why I have this view. I just think it's stupid. End of story!

Another few days, another series read. I have been reading Immortal Rain and I don't really know what to think of it. I guess the best way to describe it would be if Scrapped Princess and Ceres, Celestial Legend could have a baby, this would be it. It was tagged as a tragedy, but it didn't really make me feel anything. Maybe it's because I like tragedies on an emotional level rather than an everybody dies/violence level. Or maybe I have become desensitized by reading and seeing so much. Then again, I guess it's based on which characters you like. I found the plot predictable at times, I mean when Rain (Methuselah) died the first time, I knew he wasn't dead, because if he was then the plot would be finished and the next 6 volumes would be meaningless. Also, A good point that someone pointed out in the forums is that technically, Rain is a Pedo. I mean, he is 624 years old and is going after a 14/15 year old. I got a good laugh out of this because I never thought of it like that, so kudos. If you like your sci-fi, supernatural stuff, then get on it guys.

Just to update the footytips, I got a grand total of 3/9. In 3 years this is the worse round score I have ever got so I am bitterly disappointed. Although it's not my fault, all the crap teams won.

As promised, new message board is up, it is a lot cleaner than the previous one, no ads and such so feel free to leave a message and I will get back to you, I'd like to talk to everyone here :)

Also, last thing, I was at a party about a week and a half ago, and now this is a video from it where a gas lighter exploded, kind of. I don't know what happens exactly because I had left at this point, but watch it, and listen to the conversation in the background :)

I had a Dream

and it was really weird. I mean, thinking about makes me wonder what the hell I was doing when I went to bed last night. Okay, so I guess I will tell you about the dream. So basically I play the lead role of my dream, except it is set in an alternate world where spirits and monsters are freely exist within the human world. Anyway, so there I was, being the main character of my dream, and I'm just there being awesome, when all of a sudden, BAM, I have to move.

So I move, and in this new neighborhood, I can't seem to make any friends, so I am now a loner, until one day, I come across an angry, not violent, but angry spirit guy who I befriend. Once I befriend the spirit man, I find that something makes my cats go berserk (yes my cats make an appearance too), so I begin my mission to find out what happened to my cats. Chasing the cats down the street, I befriend an elderly man and then I learn about the old man's past, which was surprisingly interesting, anyway that is a subplot of my dream, so I will get back to the main tangent.

After listening to the old man's tale, I went back on my mission to capture my berserk cats, this time with the help of my spirit friend because he is in a good mood for once. One my journey, I meet some younger people, around my age, and I am quickly accepted into their group and we are having fun. My spirit friend is angry again because they don't like him. While I am having fun with these new friends, my berserk cats return to me, only to try and attack me. I was able to capture one (there are two) and took it home so it wouldn't escape and reek more havoc.

Once taking care of that cat, I go back to my new friends. My spirit friend has gone off somewhere, leaving me a note (because he is old school) saying that he has gone to take care of some urgent business and not to touch anything suspicious while he was gone (he is a spirit, so he does have powers). Anyways, so I return to my friends, and in the house we have gathered at, there is a mysterious box. My friends convince me to put my hand into the mysterious box because there is something amazing inside. After succumbing to peer pressure, I put my hand in the box to find that there is nothing in there (you can't see in the box).

Afterwards, I meet the old man again, this time, he has a grim look on his face and tells me that my future has become uncertain. I didn't know what it meant at the time but it soon became clear. Soon, my new found friends avoided me and weird and dangerous events started to befall me, each time I barely escaped. Soon, my spirit friend has returned from his business (still didn't know what type of business this was) and said he sensed a suspicious aura around me. He asked what had happened, and I explained everything. When I told him that I put my hand in the mysterious box, he stopped me from talking. The following conversation ensured:
"Then that explains the aura, it was faint but I sensed something, but because you disobeyed me and touched something mysterious, it is now my job to take care of the spirit that is following you"
"Following me? I'm sure it's nothing"
"I'll put it simply then. It's trying to kill you?"

And then...my alarm went off. So whether i live or die in my dream is unknown. I am pretty sure that i could write this into a multi-book series which will turn into a billion dollar movie franchise, I mean Stephanie Meyer did it so it can't be too hard right. In all seriousness, I might try to write a short story about it, going more into depth about the old man and the cats and the friends and the spirit man and myself. Maybe even a little romance, seeing as that always goes down well. We'll see how I go.

In other news, my Facebook has been inundated with pro-life/pro-choice arguments. Honestly, my stance on this is "I don't give a #@*%" but, what I do care about is people who try to make propaganda that is clearly false. Also, I don't like protests regarding this matter, because more often than not, on my days off when I go roaming the city, they are there with their banners and slogans, shouting there bs facts and parading around town. I go out on my days off to enjoy my time, not to see some douchey political activists making noise. Argh just talking about it makes me angry. This isn't strictly limited to this issue, but any issue. I just think there are quieter more civil ways for people to get their voices heard without annoying countless others.

That's about all for now, I'm quite pissed right now, so I don't want to write anymore at the risk of offending people. K, Bye
